The responsible EU Commission gave the transaction the green light on March 27. Mondi is thus taking over Schumacher Packaging’s corrugated board processing and solid board business in Germany, the Benelux countries and the UK. 

The acquisition comprises seven corrugated board plants, the two board mills Schwarzenberg and Kaierde as well as four solid board processing plants with a total of around 2,200 employees.
The amount of the transaction was stated at € 634 million when the plans were announced.
