Bern, June 24, 2026 — The amendment to the Vocational Training Act and the corresponding changes to the Vocational Training Ordinance will take effect on October 1, 2026. The Federal Council made this decision on June 24, 2026. In particular, the new degree designations “Professional Bachelor” and “Professional Master” will be introduced. This will clarify the position of higher vocational education within the tertiary level and raise its profile.
