SVI 27. October 2023 0 Comments

Bülach/ Boffalora sopra Ticino, October 25, 2023 – The
Vetropack Group
, one of Europe’s leading glass packaging manufacturers, is today inaugurating the
Boffalora sopra Ticino
in northern Italy. The plant is officially commissioned in the presence of important business partners, customers and well-known representatives of the local Italian government.

The event is intended to celebrate the achievements of Vetropack and its partners, as well as the continuous investment in the expansion and modernization of the plant. Speeches by Johann Reiter, CEO of Vetropack Group, Claude R. Cornaz, Chairman of the Board of Directors, and Sergio Antoci, General Manager of Vetropack Italia, provide insights into the project and the strategic importance of the facility. Guests can also take part in guided tours that give them an overview of the state-of-the-art production facility. “We are very happy to have reached this final milestone today,” says Johann Reiter, CEO of Vetropack Group. “Without our partners, we wouldn’t be here today – so our heartfelt thanks go to everyone involved.” Three days after the inauguration, a family party will be held at the site for employees to celebrate the event with their families.

Boffalora stands for innovation and modernity

The Boffalora plant has been in operation since May this year and has started firing up the melting tanks. Since its commissioning, the plant has been slowly moving into series production. At the heart of the strategic investment in Boffalora is the integration of powerful and intelligent technologies. Once the eight production lines are fully operational, the plant will allow production capacity to be increased by up to 70 percent while making production more resource-efficient and sustainable. To achieve this, the water used for production and the waste heat from the vats are reused as much as possible thanks to closed-loop systems. Emissions are greatly reduced with the aid of state-of-the-art filter systems. Moreover, the new plant enables more flexible production with smaller batches. This enables Vetropack to respond quickly to dynamic market conditions and is well positioned for the future. The inauguration of the Boffalora plant is a significant milestone for Vetropack and underscores its commitment to continuously improving production through responsible, forward-looking manufacturing processes.
